“Clever Original” Portable Master-Link Tool by Clever Standard

I don’t care what you say, if you have ridden a bike regularly over the course of your life, you have experienced “chain suck” in some fashion.  Whether it got stuck behind your cassette in your rear wheel, or (if you’re a bit old school like me) had this thing called a “front derailleur” (haha) in combination with a square tapered bottom bracket… your chain has fallen into limbo & was a pain in the *** to pull out without “breaking” the chain.

With the development of the master-link, it’s gotten much easier.  All you need to do is separate the link, and slide the chain out…. that is until the industry has started to get into 10s, 11s, 12s drivetrains & more!  These increased speeds required narrower chains… causing the master-link to become tighter & more of a pain to remove.

Introducing the “Clever Original” by Clever Standard.   A portable master-link tool that doubles as  set of tire levers!   Why did it take so long to figure this out!  It indeed is pretty clever!     Yes companies like Park & KMC do make shop tools to remove the master link… but who wants to carry a heavier, bulkier item… especially that only does one job.   The fact that this tool does not take up any extra room in my bag is ideal!   They are made from a “Swiss Grade Engineering” plastic that is guaranteed not to break under normal usage.  They work like a charm.  I now have a set on each of my bikes that has a bag, my travel tool kits, and even my shop mechanic’s kit (although it’s not meant to replace the shop tool)

We’ve brought a few in & had them custom labeled with our BIKE VAULT logo.   There are a few left with our logo, but plenty w/ the Clever Standard logos.  Be sure to pick a set up today!  $14.99 MSRP

*With their fast growing popularity, there’s already been some Chinese fake versions made & sold on Amazon.  If it has the “MAN” logo on it, DO NOT BUY.  They were shown to break during the first use!   While there are a number of co-branded versions out there, if it doesn’t have “www.cleverstandard.com” molded into the back, it’s not authentic!
